Big Queer Joy in the Jungle
Liberation, Expansion, Integration
I'm back in California, at the ranch, sitting on my favorite rock next to Sharon, our Boston.
A place I like to come to meditate, breathe, pause, and reflect. I woke up this morning with a lot of feelings.
Experiencing touches of sadness to no longer be in the jungle
Missing the "Good mornings" and "How'd you sleep?" from my new friends. The morning hugs and shoulder rubs.
I found myself all over again at Qasa. Or maybe a different version of myself. I didn't go feeling lost but I left feeling whole. My cup running over, for the first time in a long time.
As a friend, as a teacher, as a human.
I've caught many glimpses of of liberation in my life but nothing has come close to my time at Qasa.
True Queer Joy.
Qasa ignited something in me. In this moment, it feels like love. The expansion of love.
I've always been a lover. A wild child with a huge heart. Where that love is inside of me, I allow to exist beyond me.
Existing in love feels like home. As this version of Axel.
Knowing the dynamics of love. Beautiful, Sad, Joyful, Grief, Hope. All of this a part of the same.
I hold this balance with me. Love as to let go. To release the grip. Soften attachments. To be free. Because love isn't just ours to hold.
I'm so grateful to have experiences Qasa. To have been given the privledge to do what I love. And thats to teach, to connect, to dance, to cry, to peel back layers, to love. To be seen, held, elevated.
Ari, Moham, Mark, Eric, Blake, Steven, Fadi, Dan, Polo, Shelby, Faune, Sally, Sergio, Luke, Jose, Luis, Kevin, Charlie, Joshua. You have all made such a beautiful impact in my life. You gave me new eyes. You gave me, me.
I'll be back to the jungle. Back to Qasa. Back to me. Over and over again. Because these are the things we get to do.
We get to live in love.
We get to dance, laugh, cry, scream, move, feel.
We get to experience Joy. Not because its deserved, it is our birthright.
And, most importantly, we get to come Home. Over and over and over again.
What a gift.
All my love,
Axel
