It's Been Awhile.

Hi friends,

Soooo, it's been a little while.

The last letter I sent was back in April, and somehow the months have flown by. So much has happened since then that it almost feels like another lifetime.

One of the greatest highlights was getting to teach Queer Bodies, Sacred Spaces at the Bend Yoga Festival. Standing in that room surrounded by queer people choosing to practice together, laugh together, breathe together, and simply exist together was something I'll carry with me for a long time. Those kinds of spaces still aren't common in the yoga world, which made it all the more meaningful.

Angela, if you're reading this, thank you. I don't think you'll ever fully know what that class meant to me.

The last six months have been full of incredible peaks with a few valleys woven in between.

Lately I've been learning how to pause.

Not because life has slowed down (it definitely hasn't). I'm beginning to understand what it means to tend. To tend to the body. To relationships. To dreams. To the places we call home.

I've found a surprising amount of peace in our garden. Feeding the horses. Watering vegetables. Walking a few intentional steps out onto the land before the day begins.

My yoga practice has changed too.

These days I'm less interested in pushing harder and more interested in listening better. Seeking softness. Meditation. Reflection. Silence. The pause between breaths. It's been a beautiful reminder that growth isn't always loud but certainly expansive.

What's On Deck

This Saturday I'm headed to Costa Rica to teach at a Queer Men's Retreat.

Every time I get on a plane to teach somewhere new, I'm reminded just how fortunate I am. I never want to take that for granted. I'm excited to see what the jungle has to teach me, what conversations unfold, and what I bring home with me.

Stay tuned.

In August I'll be teaching at the Lodi Yoga Festival from August 14 through 16.

I'll be offering an Arm Balance Workshop along with what I think is going to be a pretty epic Deep House Flow. Think kriya, movement, ecstatic dance, sweat, joy, release, and a room full of people moving together.

If you've been looking for an excuse to come, use code AXEL30 for 30% off your festival pass. I'd love to see you there.

I'm also excited to finally introduce something that's been quietly growing behind the scenes.

Fix Your Shit launches this August.

It's a movement education platform centered around mobility, anatomy, and helping real people with real bodies build a practice that actually works for them. Less perfection. More understanding. More curiosity. More freedom to move well.

Six Months In. Six Months Remain.

Here we are at the halfway point of 2026. So I'll leave you with a reflection.

What are you proud of from the last six months?

What are you looking forward to in the next six?

If I had to describe the first half of this year with one word, it would be dynamic.

So many beautiful opportunities have come my way. Opportunities to teach. To travel. To grow. To learn. Opportunities to be still. Each one asking me to tune in, listen, respond, and trust the next step.

More than anything, I'm proud of myself for trying something new.

For stepping into a life that scared me. For leaving behind what was familiar in order to build something that feels deeply aligned with who I am becoming.

The next six months hold more travel, with Costa Rica right around the corner. But what I'm looking forward to most might actually sound a little boring...

Structure. Routine.

The rhythm of teaching regularly. Caring for the land. Continuing to build this dream one class, one retreat, one conversation, one day at a time.

Maybe that's what this season is teaching me. Not that life needs to be bigger.

Just that it needs to be tended to.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading these little letters, for practicing beside me, for cheering me on from near or far, and for being part of this community.

I promise I won't wait another three months before writing again. Life has certainly been "life-ing".

Either way, I'm grateful you're here.

With love,

Axel
